Information you send us
Our contact form collects your name, email address, selected topic and message. Sending an enquiry submits these details automatically through Cloudflare to our email inbox so we can read and respond to it. Email sent directly to our public address is also forwarded to that inbox.
Please do not include identifiable case records, sensitive personal information, documents or mapping files in an enquiry. Submitting the form does not subscribe you to a marketing list.
Website and security information
Our hosting and security services process technical information such as IP addresses, requested pages, timestamps, browser information and request errors to deliver the website, prevent abuse and investigate faults. The contact service uses an IP-based rate limit to reduce spam. Its application code does not log the contents of enquiries.
Cloudflare Web Analytics is enabled to provide website usage and performance measurements. Cloudflare describes this service as not using cookies, browser storage or fingerprinting to track individual visitors. Cloudflare may also receive browser network-error reports. Why we use this information
We use enquiry details to answer questions and manage the resulting correspondence. We rely on our legitimate interests in responding to enquiries, running our business and keeping the website secure. Where you ask us to take steps towards a contract, we may also use the information to take those steps at your request. Information may need to be retained or disclosed to meet an applicable legal obligation.
Service providers
- Hetzner hosts the website infrastructure.
- Cloudflare delivers and protects the website, handles contact-form submission and email forwarding, and provides performance measurements.
- Google provides the email service used to receive enquiries. The main website also loads Google Fonts, which means your browser sends a request to Google containing technical details such as your IP address and browser information.
These providers operate internationally, and information may be processed outside the UK. Their privacy information describes their processing and international-transfer arrangements: Hetzner, Cloudflare and Google. Contact us if you need further information about the handling of your enquiry.
How long information is kept
Enquiry correspondence is kept for as long as it is needed to respond, manage relevant follow-up and meet any applicable record-keeping or legal requirements. The appropriate period depends on the subject of the enquiry and any resulting business relationship. Technical records are used for operating, securing and troubleshooting the services. You can contact us to ask about retention or request deletion of your information.
Your rights
Depending on the circumstances, you can ask to access or correct your personal information, request its erasure, restrict or object to its use, or receive a portable copy. Some rights depend on the reason the information is being processed and may be subject to exceptions. Contact us using the email address above.
